I was thinking to myself "what a cool house" as we were winding up a potholed driveway in San Luis Obispo. I was with Mia, her mom and brother, and we were driving to pick up Mias sister from babysitting I was in the back seat when the dad of the girl who was being babysat came over to introduce himself. "You must be the 25 year old lawyer!" He said as he shook Mia's hand. He reached out to Mia's brother, "wow quiet a handshake!" And then extended his hand out to me, "Dang! Look at those paws! What do you do??!" A minute into our introduction, "I've got a boat, a 30 footer" he said, "a Catalina"

well, wouldn't you know, it is right around they same year as mine and it's down in Dana Point. He told me they're looking to move it up to redondo, they're going down to Southern California next week to take a week long trip around Catalina island. They bring their boards and bikes and dive head and go on these extended vacations in their Catalina 30. Sounds awesome to me.

Typical of California in the summer, there's a heat wave and uncontrollable fires fueled by a years long drought. we visited the horses, stayed cool in the house, and played a lot of video games. It actually felt like I was having a summer break back in high school.
