Saturday. Day 2 of the bachelor party. The whole bunch of us were joined by a couple more of Matt’s friends who drove up early in the morning and we went to south lake on the Nevada side to rent a large pontoon boat. Due to certain capacity restrictions, one car of us went to zephyr cove, a short boat trip away from the rental docks, to drink beers on the beach and wait for the pontoon boat with everyone else to pick us up. The beaches on the NV side allow drinking, and it seemed like it was mostly underaged drinking but that’s irrelevant. It had a cancun spring break vibe to it so we were all happy with the decision to be out on the boat. We motored across the lake to emerald bay, i tied us up to a mushroom anchor with a small fender floating at the end, and some of the guys climbed the island and did a little cliff diving. All the while, everyone enjoyed beers and sandwiches (or water and sandwiches for the designated drivers) and the sunny 80 degree air. That lake water is damn cold, though. It was a lot of fun being out on the lake, it brought back fond memories of sailing with my family when I was really young and clenching a yellow line on the flying scot, screaming for dear life because we were sailing through a wake caused by the ferry and it splashed water on me. Fortunately I’ve grown up a little, I wasn’t even afraid to jump in this time.
That night there was another delicious dinner, Mexican food this time, and then we set out to a casino/bar on the Nevada state line to find out what could be in store. The cab drivers warned us not to get our expectations up, yet it turned out to be a lot of fun with a good live band and cheapish drinks. The crew of Matt’s close friends really made it fun. Matt surprised us by dressing purely 70s, which, with the horse head in some of the other pictures, was the most hazing, practically self inflicted, that he had to to go through.
