A really fun 4th of July trip to Northern California kicked off with (after a drive up and arriving at 2am) by going to Mount Diablo and camping. We pitched the tent and drove to the summit, then my mom joined and brought dinner. Mia and I walked up to Rock City to stake a look-out area for the fireworks. This is when she googled the San Ramon fireworks show and it explained that it was cancelled for the second year in a row. Not a problem, we saw a show in the distance around Castro Valley, the nice firework-budget-friend town. The night was warm and clear so it was a surprise when we woke up to gusty, cold wind and fog - pretty neat though.
The next day we packed up, washed my truck, and got ready to head to the wedding rehearsal dinner for my brother Matt, and Julia. Rehearsed and ate and listened to a great speech or two, and then more of the wedding guests arrived for drinks. The next day was the big day.
