Bramalaweds

Got to go to our first wedding of 2016, my friend since college, Kamala and Brad. They venue was at Carondelet House in downtown LA. A beautiful building from the 1920s that holds a solid vintage/antique/hipster/rustic vibe to it. It was a ton of fun. Unfortunately I am hyper cautious with my new phone and was afraid to take it out for pictures as to not repeat anything like New Years Eve's incident.

Other than the wedding, I went through all of my clothes that are packed in the v-berth and donated 4 bags to goodwill. Interestingly I also shop there on occasion so it was funny to give back clothes to goodwill that were previously purchased there. There's some good stuff I had to let go of, but the 9-5 (7:30-8) workweek and busy weekends don't demand enough t shirts to wear one a day for 2 months like back in college. It's nice I have more free space in the v-berth now. When I think about the day I move out of the boat I think I'll be able to move out completely in about 45 minutes. It's nice not to have a lot of stuff.

Additionally, I visited Mia and her family and little brother and the UCLA medical center Saturday and we returned Sunday to spend time hanging out as James is healing. More about that another post.

An exciting start to Saturday morning was a call from Emma of Blue Sky at the end of the dock. She confronted a guy who was rummaging through my truck bed and compartments, after the guy was paddleboarding around stealing things from the back of boats. The cops arrested him, and asked me about the value of the old used tie-downs that he took from my truck bed. Also noted, he saw 4 packs of expired red bull but delicately opened just one pack for a single can.  Seems like he got mostly junk off of people's boats, and three a rock line and set of glasses in the garbage can before the police showed up. Tweakers aren't usually a problem here but they do pass through the marina and sift through the garbage or try to follow someone into the bathrooms. This guys idea of paddling around was actually bright, I think I'll go back to locking my bikes and tying 19 knots to tie down things on my deck. Nobody is going to untie 19 knots.
