I did my first oil change to the boat. It was definitely a learning experience. If anyone reads this and is going to do their own, keep in mind it takes a bit of time to extract the oil out of the engine… Long enough to eat a sandwich and watch it happen. After that, and some testing of running the engine, learning some more about the oil level, and cleaning up a little, I also check the transmission level- super easy and quick, and I added a tiny bit of oil to that until it hit the dipstick mark. The oil changes are supposed to happen every 100 hours or year, and I’d like to do them myself, so I bought another oil filter and the oil filter wrench for my next yearly oil change.
