I made a 5-point list last week of things I should do over the past weekend. I got (1), (2), (5) and a little of (3) done. Not bad, I’d say.

Some parts and things are currently on order, so look forward to a more productive weekend in the future. I wanted to test a small piece of my teak project to practice the technique before tackling all the large pieces. Here is a photo of just after the first coat of teak oil. I added a second coat this morning before heading to work. What, that’s crazy? No, it only took about 3 minutes. If the teak stays looking this good, then teak oiling is the easiest and most practical method to get “the look”.

Everything converts into something else on a boat. My bedroom became an engine room for thirty minutes on Sunday. I had to take apart the hose feeding into the raw water engine pump in order to measure the correct diameter for the new replacement pump. The most prominent thing on my mind was, “Phil, DO NOT STAIN THE CARPET”

And finally, a shot from Friday night of the light on top of the Redondo Beach power plant as a heavy fog rolled in. The fog pretty much blanketing the coastline throughout Saturday but cleared Sunday for a cool, brisk, breezy day, great ‘do boat stuff’ weather.
