Cleaned some standing rigging by removing the plastic covers (breaking them into small pieces). It’s known that the rigging covers, while protecting you from kicking metal, grabbing dirty metal, and looking nice, also trap dirt and moisture in there and can damage the metal over time. So I removed them, Jim from the end of the dock saw me and gave me a brush, acid, and polish to clean it all up. That turned into cleaning up all the stanchions and railing around the boat. Shiny, clean, safer.
