Replaced the heat exchanger from the original one to an upgrade 3" $500 piece. Kept the original lines, which were nearly cemented to the old heat exchanger. I learned a lot about getting better engine access by removing more boards, also about draining the coolant into a plastic cup 15-20 times and having to pump it into a waste oil tank was time consuming. Overall I used someone else’s blog (in my links) as a reference and fought to squeeze the new stuff in, and followed the directions to restart the engine and bleed the coolant lines of air. Everything seems to work great. My fingers and pretty cut up though.
