12.31.2014 New Year’s Eve
Finally one of the dock lines that came with the boat snapped. The term of its useful life likely shortened by the 3 weeks of windy storms in December. Luckily my mom gave me a gift card to west marine for Christmas so I stopped by one in Antioch. The employees were not the sharpest tools in the shed, which worked to my advantage because they cut and soldered 80ft of new line for me, but only charged me for 40. I walked out spending just $25 out of pocket and got about $170 of new braided dock line.
Funny, I remember last New Year’s Eve I used the head lamp my mom got me and worked on the boat a little, this New Year’s Eve I tweaked the throttle throw to extend my rpm, braided my new dock line (buying already looped dock line comes at a premium price I just couldn’t justify when it’s easy and fun to tie it off like this), I also taped up this hose that ripped with matching white duct tape so I can’t barely notice. Got a shoe new rug too.
