The alert on my phone woke me up. I was asleep for about 2 minutes, since the last big gust. It’s the middle night and satellite imagery clearly shows an w amount of wet weather about to engulf Los Angeles. The howling wind, the crackling of Palm leaves on land, and the sudden shocks sent through my shelter all bring back very real memories of that hurricane I went through.
Anyways a brief survey shows that all of my outside belongings are secure, I’m actually proud how little noise by boat makes compared to others in the wind, like that’s some sort of tell of the kind of attention to detail this sailor has. Not really.
At almost 3 am, it looks like just one sailboat in the 36’ range on the dock over is going to be replacing a shredded jib. I bet there will be a few others.
